For School Leaders

We fully understand how hard D of E managers and leaders work and that in almost all cases, you are a qualified teacher and it’s a labour of love. D of E managers do not have to be expedition experts and indeed you may be a brand-new leader. We are on your side and are here to help.

You may however be extremely experienced and qualified, and ready to outsource to fellow experts. We can provide a technical expedition advisor for a daily fee whilst you run the show or we can run everything for you and with you.

Whatever stage you are at, we are here to support you.

 

As a licensed AAP we will support you with any expedition or residential matters. We also encourage your students to complete their awards and progress to the next level. There are many different ways of running an expedition scheme. Only the DofE Expedition requirements are set in stone. How an expedition is then run is simply based on safety and the expedition aim. For example, do you need a route card? and does a gold expedition need to be in wild county? No and no, however we believe a team must know estimated times of arrivals at each leg and the end points. Gold teams on assessment do require route cards, adverse weather routes and escape notes, however, expeditions no longer need to be run in a wild county area.

We enjoy what we do and is has to be fun for participants. We do like interesting team names and creative venture projects being set.
